Our spy photographers have been closely monitoring the new 2017 Honda Civic and captured the photos you see posted here. While the camouflage is unforgiving, the exterior design seems to remain unchanged except for the minor grille and front bumper tampering. Just like Honda clearly stated that they were looking to put the 2017 Civic in a league of its own, the new model seems to have had the “dynamic revolution” folks at Honda were talking about. This review is based on our own rendering based on the images we have of the new-look Civic. Its release date and pricing estimates are also covered.
Belonging to the 10th generation Civics, the new model represents one of the most ambitious and comprehensive new-model developments ever undertaken by the Japanese marque, which has combined Honda engineering prowess, and unprecedented commitment of R&D resources. While many might be quick to reckon its capability relative to its rock-bottom pricing, the small Civic packs a good chunk of desirable features that should make it endearing to anyone shopping in the compact sedan or coupe segment.
Some highlights often associated with it include spacious trunk space and cabin, excellent fuel economy ratings, exceptional ride and handling balance, numerous advanced technology features, high-quality materials, and expertly balanced comfort and athleticism. While those features primarily mirror those offered for the immediate prior model, Honda’s engineers and designers were able to achieve lofty aims – upgraded levels of handling, steering, ride quality, refinement, and quality without jeopardizing the sticker price – through a new way of thinking and new approaches to the chassis, powertrain, aerodynamics, and body-construction designs.
The results of these efforts yielded a completely reinvented and reimagined Civic that is expected to set the benchmark in terms of safety features, dynamic performance, interior quality, fuel efficiency, and spaciousness in the compact class. In addition to the many features that were introduced on the outgoing model, the new 2017 Honda Civic takes the dynamic and styling capabilities of the sedan even further for a stylish, fun, and unique performance. In overall, the new Civic coupe is connected, charismatic, and athletic.
Aside from the Civic Coupe and Sedan there’s also the Civic Hatchback that debuted during the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Rumors going round the automotive sphere say Honda might offer the new hatchback this year as a 2017 model. As was evidenced by the design of the prototype, Honda plans to focus more on offering it a more provocative design and rewarding driving dynamics – changes that will help its design herald away from the prior ones. Relative to the current generation, the all-new 2017 Honda Civic hatchback will be 130 mm longer, 20 mm lower, and 30 mm wider.
Coming off a major redesign only last year, the new 2017 model has only received minor exterior and interior updates that Honda hopes will help burnish the appeal of this admirable car. See, the new 2017 Honda Civic isn’t the only vehicle coming off from a refresh, others in the market include the Kia Forte, Ford Focus, Mazda 3, and the Chevrolet Cruz.
2017 Honda Civic Release Date & Price
As of this writing, the pricing for the new 2017 Honda Civic is not yet available. Due to the slight changes for the new model, price changes over the existing model’s current $20,275 MSRP sticker price should be minimal. The release date has been set for mid-2017, at least for the Civic coupe and Sedan. The 2017 Civic Hatchback release date details are yet unknown.
2017 Honda Civic Exterior
The exterior of the new model is a carry-over of the previous design. Therefore, buyers should expect similar exterior profile as before. The aerodynamics, color palette, and the front and rear fascia designs remain unchanged.
2017 Honda Civic Interior
The interior is spacious, comfortable, and fitted with intuitive controls. Rumors say the new model has upped the appeal ante with new levels of technological refinement and quality. More details will be offered on its release date, as Honda has only provided us with teaser images that are heavily cladded with camouflage.
